The Environmental Management System of ACSUG is verified according the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
On December 2009, the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR) carried out an external audit to check the fulfilment of ACSUG about the requirements of EMAS. As a result, on 13 April 2010, the ACSUG Environmental Management System has been correctly verified and it is integrated in the existing management system. After that, ACSUG has been included in the Galician Register of Centres Adhered to the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, which is administered by each autonomous community in Spain.
One of the main requirements of EMAS is to carry out yearly a public document, explaining the environmental management in this period. This document is called Environmental Declaration.

PRESENTATION OF THE PUBLICATION: “LABOR MARKET INSERTION OF GALICIAN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM GRADUATES 2006-2007”.
On Thursday 6th July at 12:00 hours the ACSUG´s publication: “LABOR MARKET INSERTION OF GALICIAN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM GRADUATES 2006-2007” is presented in the ACSUG . This presentation is made by both “the ACSUG direction and the Universities General Secretary of the Galician Government”.
This survey is framed within the labor market studies of the Galician University System Graduates, which are carried out regularly by ACSUG. The results obtained in this study provide information of the aspects related to the transition of higher education to the labor market: percentage of graduates working, employment search routes, factors valued in hiring, time spent finding work, type of contract and assessment of competencies required in employment.

ACSUG TAKES PART IN THE MEETING OF THE ENQA INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE (IQA) GROUP IN LONDON.
On 08 and 09 June 2010, the members of the ENQA IQA Group have a working meeting in London.
The IQA group has been created by ENQA and it’s composed mainly by internal and external quality technicians of the agencies members of ENQA. This group was established with the objectives of sharing experiences about practices in internal quality and management systems and fostering the collaboration between the agencies about this matter.
Besides others activities, a general meeting is carried out yearly. This year, the meeting is in London, for which ENQA has the collaboration of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). In the conference, the presentations of various topics are included, as well as debates and working groups. A contribution of ACSUG about “internal and external communication in the quality agencies” is one of the selected topics to discuss.

STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE IN THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA
ACSUG carried out the adaptation of the document about European Standards and Guidelines into Galician. The Linguistics Service of the A Coruña University has collaborated in the translation.
The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) has included the Galician version in the Website.

RESULTADOS EVALUACIÓN PREVIA PROFESORADO
Se anuncia que los interesados en las convocatorias relativas a la evaluación previa a la contratación por las universidades de profesorado contratado doctor, ayudante doctor y profesorado de universidad privada, así como la relativa a la emisión del informe previo a la contratación excepcional de profesorado colaborador, aprobadas ambas a través de sendas resoluciones del 15 de diciembre de 2009, podrán retirar su resolución en la sede de la ACSUG, desde el día 30 de marzo a las 11:00 horas, hasta el día 7 de abril a las 14:00 horas. A partir de esta fecha las resoluciones serán enviadas por correo.
Se recuerda que el horario de atención al público es de 9:00 a 14:00 horas.

FIDES-AUDIT PROGRAMME. 3rd CALL FOR APPLICATIONS ABOUT THE DESIGN EVALUATION OFTHE INTERNAL MANAGEMENT QUALITY GUARANTEE SYSTEMS (SGIC).
The centres which want to take part in the 3rd call for applications about the design evaluation of the SGIC have a deadline of 22 February 2010 to submit the application. The period available to present the SGIC whole documentation is until 31 May.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR EVALUATION PRIOR TO THE HIRING OF UNIVERSITY TEACHING STAFF AND EVALUATION PRIOR TO THE EXCEPCIONAL HIRING OF ASSISTANT PROFESSORS
On 30 December 2009, it has been published the Resolution of 15 December 2009 by the President of ACSUG, approving the regular call for evaluation prior to the hiring of teaching staff in the Galician universities and it has been opened the period for presenting the applications.

The deadline for presenting the applications for the two previous calls is 8 February 2010.

ACSUG IS A FULL MEMBER OF ENQA
ACSUG has successfully underwent the external evaluation process carried out by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), association composed by quality assurance agencies of 25 European countries. The labour carried out by ACSUG since its creation in 2001 has been recognised by ENQA and ACSUG has been accepted since 16 November 2009 as a full member of ENQA.Expand information |

Today October 5, is published the Resolution of September 24, 2009, approving the ordinary call for evaluation prior to the assignment of additional compensation regarding the supplement for recognition for teaching and research work and the period is open for presentation of requests. |

ACSUG, ANECA, AQU Catalunya and the CRUE deliver the AUDIT certificates
On September 16, ACSUG, AQU Catalunya, ANECA and the CRUE will proceed to delivery of the AUDIT certificates, granted to those SGICs with designs, on being evaluated, considered well defined, consistent with the directives of the program and supported by an organizational structure able to implement it, to guarantee the fulfillment of quality commitments assumed by different universities. In this first call, a total of 117 centers will receive the AUDIT certificate, corresponding to 49 universities. The document, in which are involved many academic authorities and representatives of agencies, will also boast the presence of Felipe Petriz, general director of University Policies of the Ministry of Education.

CANQA TEMPUS PROJECT 2009-2011
ACSUG takes part in a European Union Tempus Project related with the Central Asian network on Quality Assurance and Accreditation (CANQA). This Project is being developed between 2009 and 2011.

THE AUTONOMOUS AGENCIES AND ANECA PRESENT THE UNIVERSITIES QUALITY REPORT (2008)
On 15 July 2009, the autonomous agencies and ANECA presented to the university stakeholders the “Report on the state of external quality review in Spanish universities, 2008”. The ceremony, presented by Gemma Rauret, took place in the Holiday Inn Hotel (Madrid). Representatives of all Spanish autonomous quality agencies attended the meeting. The report is the first that is made coordinated by all quality agencies, in the fulfilment of their commitment about openness and accountability to society. |
