Monitoring Guide Improvement Proposals

ACSUG, ANECA and AQU of Catalonia, with the objective of supporting the initiatives of the universities to guarantee the quality of its educational offerings and promote a culture of continuous advancement, created the "Guide for the design of Internal Quality Guarantee Systems of university education.” Its objective is two-fold: to orient the actions carried out by the Centres to obtain Internal Quality Guarantee Systems (SGIC) and provide the Centres and Universities a series of directives to guide them in the development of those systems.

The objective of the Programme FIDES-AUDIT is to guide the centres in the work of integration of all the activities related to the guarantee of quality in teaching, which were being developed until now, and encourage the future process of verification and accreditation of degrees.

Due to the complementarity of the FIDES-AUDIT programmes, they are developed, designed, managed, evaluated, implemented and certified jointly and coordinated with the ACSUG. This is why they are considered a single entity called "FIDES-AUDIT Programme.”

The expected result of the first objective of FIDES-AUDIT is seen in the analysis or diagnosis by the Centres, of the current state of the guarantee of quality of their teaching programmes. This diagnosis can help to establish the path taken and the way their next actions should be directed. The expected result of the second objective of the Programme FIDES-AUDIT is seen in the definition and documentation of the Internal Quality Guarantee System that the Centre decides to adopt in the light of the analysis of the references described in this document, as well as the information obtained in the prior diagnosis of the situation.

35 centers of the SUG participated in the first invitation to competition of the FIDES-AUDIT Programme.

To perform the process of evaluation of the SGIC two evaluation committees were created, which were constituted according to the previously established criteria.

The second invitation to competition opens continuing with support to the centers of the Galician universities in the systematic design and implementation of internal quality guarantee procedures. The period for presentation of applications for participation of the centers in it is until February 27, 2009 . The period for presentation of the complete documentation of the SGIC of the centre is until June 30, 2009 .
