Participation of the director of ACSUG in the FIRST SEMINAR WITH THE AIM TO PREPARE THE THIRD ACADEMIC SUMMIT (Santo Domingo)

The ACSUG Director attended the FIRST SEMINAR WITH THE AIM TO PREPARE THE THIRD ACADEMIC SUMMIT celebrated in Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, invited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology to make a presentation about “Accreditation in the Higher Education in Latin America and Caribe and in the European Union”.
In his presentation he tried to explain to the attendees (more than 200) the process and changes in the evaluation and accreditation of the Higher Education System in Europe since the Bologna Declaration, in comparison with the same process in Latin America since the Rio Declaration in 1999. The possibility of taking advantage of synergies in a mutual and common way was one of the main basis of his speech.
After that first presentation, the ACSUG Director had a meeting with the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and the rectors, vice rectors and other staff of almost of the 52 universities of the country. The main objective of the meeting was to coordinate efforts to come to agreements and mutual collaborations in activities of international evaluation, according the European Framework of Accreditation, activities that ACSUG has been developing in other Latino and Central America countries, such as Peru or Mexico.
